Indoor smoking is present in some adult settings but public polish is strong. Law vibe is strict, formal, and very rule-conscious.

Auto: Russian tourist licenses are commonly accepted by UAE rental desks, but carrying an IDP is still the low-friction choice. Rentals are broad-market: roughly $25-60/day for Sunny, Yaris, Attrage, $70-180+ for SUVs and luxury cars, with credit-card deposits and Salik, toll billing. Oman crossing is possible only with explicit permission and Oman insurance; Saudi, Qatar routes are more specialized.

Zones

• Urban Gulf Coast: Futuristic desert-coast cities, malls, marinas, business districts and full AC comfort. Ultra-modern desert cities with extreme summer heat 38–48°C and mild winters 15–25°C, very dry air and heavy AC reliance.
• Mountain & Desert Interior: Oasis neighborhoods, heritage forts, mountain wadis and a quieter pace than the coast. Hot and arid but more moderate than the Gulf coast. Al Ain averages 20–42°C across seasons with dry heat and none of the coastal humidity. Hatta's mountain air is noticeably fresher and cooler in the evenings. Summers remain intense but feel drier and cleaner.
