Auto: Russian licenses should be backed by an IDP, French or Arabic translation; many desks ask for an international permit. Rentals are roughly €20-50/day for Dacia, Sandero, Clio class and €55-120+ for Duster, 4x4 desert routes. Spain ferries and Mauritania, Algeria borders are not normal rental-car crossings; domestic mountain, desert permissions and road exclusions matter.

Zones

• Urban Coast: Atlantic and Strait cities, business districts, medinas, cafés and strong services. Mild Atlantic-Mediterranean climate with ocean breeze and softer summers around 24–31°C. Winters stay around 10–18°C with occasional rainy weeks and sea fog.
• Mountain & Desert Interior: Imperial medinas, blue alleys, souks, dry heat and desert-edge roads. Varied interior climates. Marrakech runs dry and hot — 30–40°C in summer with mild winters. Fez has equally hot summers but sharper winters. Chefchaouen sits cooler in the Rif Mountains at 10–25°C most of the year. Spring and autumn are the sweet spots across all three.
